MOORE III ROBERT BREVARD Lieutenant Commander Robert Brevard Moore III died
Friday, May 27, in San Diego, CA, after a year-long battle with
gastrointestinal cancer. The archetypal All-American Man, Robert was born on
July 6, 1971. He attended high school at Christ School, a boy's boarding
school in Ashville, NC, where he was named as Head Prefect and graduated
Valedictorian in 1990. A Presidential Appointee to the U.S. Naval Academy at
Annapolis, Robert became a third generation graduate in 1994. After

Strike Air Warfare Center at Fallon, Nevada, and graduated from Top Gun. He
married the love of his life, Tara Virginia, in Annapolis at St. Margaret's
Church. Robert had the ability to draw out the best from the people he
loved. He was an adored husband, son, brother and a devoted friend. Robert's
hobbies included backpacking, fly fishing, golfing and classic car
restoration; he was also a gracious host and enjoyed the frequent company of
family and friends. Robert fought courageously during his illness, never
wavering from his commitment, "Fight to win". He left us peacefully,
surrounded by loved ones and secure with the knowledge of the upcoming birth
of his child. A loving spouse, Robert is survived by his devoted wife, Tara,
his future child, parents, Brev and Virginia Moore of Annapolis, mother and
father-in-law, Bernell and Patricia Hayden of San Diego; as well as his
