Hi Everyone,

I wanted to send out an update since things are moving along very quickly now... Kevin's been out of the ICU and in the burn rehabilitation unit for a week-and-a-half now and the doctor tells us that Kevin's ready to be discharged this week! I know this may sound shocking -- you should have seen our faces when the doctors broke the news. But Kevin has made great strides since leaving the ICU, and he's now medically healthy enough to continue his physical therapy as an outpatient. We're going to stay close by (in the hospital hotel, where I've been staying) since he's not strong enough yet to make the commute up here for his rehab. We'll stay here for at least two weeks while he does rehab every day. He'll then graduate to doing rehab three times a week, so we should be able to go home. We'll be home just before Christmas! We couldn't have asked for a better Christmas gift! I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has taken the time out of their busy schedules to visit, cook meals, call, or send cards and e-mails over the many weeks that we've been here. It has helped keep Kevin's spirits high to know how much support he has had from friends, family, and our extended Navy family. His recovery will be long, so please keep the support going!
