This email is being sent to all USNA Class Presidents for information and further distribution.Owing to the success of last summer's Army-Navy Track & Cross Country alumni dinner, a second gathering will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2004, in conjunction with the Army-Navy indoor track meet at the Naval Academy in Annapolis. The track meet begins at noon on Saturday. This approach offers the opportunity for the coaches and guests from today's Army and Navy teams to join us if possible. Since an "RON" will likely be necessary for out-of-town attendees in any case, the consensus is that holding the dinner on Friday evening is the best option. An initial block of 10 rooms has been reserved at Loews Annapolis Hotel at 126 West Street in Annapolis (a short walk from Church Circle and the Naval Academy). An initial block of reduced-rate rooms has been reserved, with an option to add more if attendance warrants it. The cost for a deluxe room, double rate, is $149. If you plan to attend the dinner and stay at Loews, you must make a reservation by calling the hotel reservations desk at 1-800-526-2593. Identify yourself as part of the "Army-Navy Track Alumni Room Block" when making your reservation (which will require a credit card to hold). We plan to hold the dinner at Loews. Col. Barney Forsythe, the Assistant Dean at the Military Academy, Class of 1970, has agreed to be the Army speaker at the reunion dinner. He was Army's Indoor Track Captain and has served 25-plus years as the officer representative on Army's track and cross country teams. Navy coaches Steve Cooksey and Al Cantello also have been contacted recently to seek their participation, and we expect to hear back from them soon. If you plan to attend the dinner, please confirm now by e-mail with the dinner's organizers (see below: Army with Col. Greg Camp, USMA '68, and Navy with Capt. Gordon Peterson, USNA '68). Final guest list must be confirmed no later than January 23. Full information on the cost for the dinner will be provided by that time. Please provide the following information in your e-mail: 1. Full name and class, phone number, and e-mail.
2. Number in your party who will attend. 3. Dinner entre: Indicate choice of chicken, beef, or fish. 4. Teams and years of participation, plus any special distinction (e.g., captain or co-captain) Army alumni contact should confirm with Greg Camp.
