Today was a very positive day:

--Less Mannitol (erroneously referred to as Manuitor in Matt's previous email) administered less often indicating that the ICP is beginning to stabilize.
--completely off of Paralytic medication, first time in over a week Jay has responded to stimulation (occasionally makes facial expressions, moves arms and legs).
--Doctors anticipate waking Jay up sometime tomorrow morning (i.e. slowly decreasing his dosage of Morphine and Terced which have kept him sedated thus far). At that point Doctors will now more about the results of his surgery last Monday.
--Jay has slight fever, though Doctors are not too concerned. This is believed to be caused by sinus infection, and we should have more info tomorrow.

Again, overall the Doctors are very positive....tomorrow is a big day. Both families greatly appreciate all the support. If you're receiving this email twice let me know; some of you may be on several distribution lists that I received in the last couple of days.
